Connect with us through the opening season concert dedicated to World
Peace, at the world class Ferguson Center. Experience world music about
India as the we feature Sitar soloist, Maestro Alif Laila in the concert
titled East Meets West.Elgar's Crown of Indiaand Rubinstein's, Brides of Cashmerefrom the Feramors Suite will be performed as well. The orchestras of Christopher Newport University and Hampton University will join with the YRSO for this special concert. Let the crown jewel of the evening thrill you with Holiday Favorites by the YRSO Choir and orchestra led by Reginald Fox. |
Overtures Across Cultures
Journey along with us as we showcase five Overtures Across Cultures.Delight yourself with King Stephen Overtureby Beethoven and the rarely heard, Sophonisbe Overtureby Italian composer, Ferdinando Paer. The highlight of the program will be this year's Concerto Competition winner(s). |

Back at the Ferguson Center take in music by America's Most Beloved Composer, Leroy Anderson and light classics by Rimsky-Korsakov, Khachaturian, and Glazounov. |

The orchestra currently rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Monday evenings at
First Baptist Church, Newport News, 12716 Warwick Blvd.

The orchestra currently has openings for strings, bassoon, oboe, trombone, and percussion. We are glad to put other instrumentalists on the extralist. |
| The YRSO hosts a community choir for designated concerts based on the selection of music. The next performance with choir will be on December 15, 2024. Invitations to participate will be announced, and all singers from the area are welcome to join us. |
